Meet the crew
Julia Flights started in 2022 with one simple idea: share the thrill of plane spotting with the world. Today a small crew brings you live streams from Brisbane and Melbourne, 4K aviation videos and merch made by spotters, for spotters.
Julia
My name is Julia and I’m the founder of the YouTube channel Julia Flights. I started plane spotting when I was 5 and as I grew older, my passion for aviation only intensified. I spent countless hours at different airports across Australia and Europe, watching planes take off and land, and eagerly listening to the stories of pilots and aviation enthusiasts alike. My career began as Ground Staff at Madrid-Barajas International Airport, which gave me a deeper appreciation for the industry.
In 2022 I launched Julia Flights to share this passion with the world. Alongside Gavin, our cameraman, we bring plane spotting to life, capturing rare aircraft and sharing the thrill of aviation with a global audience. We aim to inspire and entertain, offering a unique view into the excitement of aviation.
After noticing a lack of truly unique aviation-themed merchandise, I decided to create my own. Our shop offers high-quality merch that captures the excitement of plane spotting — perfect for any aviation enthusiast!
Gavin
Gavin has been interested in aviation since his earliest memories. With a private pilot license to his name, he's taken to the skies himself, experiencing the thrill of flight firsthand. But his passion extends beyond the cockpit. Since his teenage years, Gavin has been a dedicated plane spotter, spending countless hours at Brisbane airport capturing the beauty of aircraft through his lens.
Armed with his camera, Gavin has turned his love for aviation into an art form, documenting the graceful movements of planes as they soar through the sky. His collection of photos and videos is a testament to his deep appreciation for the wonders of flight.
Whether he's up in the air or on the ground, Gavin's enthusiasm for aviation knows no bounds. He's always eager to share his knowledge and experiences with fellow enthusiasts on Julia Flights live streams, fostering a sense of community among those who share his passion for all things aviation.
Dean
Based in Brisbane, Dean has been mad about aviation for as long as he can remember, with photography another long-time interest. He’s a regular on our Sunday morning streams at Brisbane Airport, but you’ll also spot him popping up interstate or overseas when he gets the chance to tag along with the crew.
Dean’s happiest with a camera in hand and a few planes to watch, particularly when something a bit out of the ordinary turns up. He enjoys sharing what he knows, having a laugh with the crew and chatting with viewers. Even after all these years, there’s always something new to see at an airport, and that’s half the fun!
Richard
Richard’s passion for aviation began at a young age, always looking for opportunities to watch planes at Melbourne Airport. He even remembers finding excuses to leave the classroom at school to watch planes flying by!
A keen traveller and devoted Qantas enthusiast, Richard also has a passion for videography and loves combining his interests by filming aircraft.
Richard is proud to be part of the Julia Flights crew and loves sharing his passion for aviation with such a wonderful and welcoming community!
